Pass Plus Courses Newcastle

Pass Plus Northumberland

Pass Plus North East
So you've passed your driving test, now you can finally enjoy driving on your own without those L-plates. But that's not the end of the story, as you'll soon learn.

Getting your own car will give you the independence you wanted when you started learning to drive. But one thing that a new driver is never fully prepared for is the cost of their first insurance policy for their first car. Any way of improving that situation is well worth looking into, and thankfully, Pass Plus can help.

The main reason for this high insurance is that statistics show that 1 in 5 new drivers, (20%), are more likely to have an accident in the first two years of driving than at any other time in their driving career.

Age isn't the main factor for this, it's all down to driving experience.

Pass Plus gives you a head-start on your path to gaining this experience by guiding through various different situations and conditions which are not typically covered in the learning to driving process.

PASS PLUS & MOTOR INSURANCE
When you successfully complete Pass Plus you will usually qualify for a significant discount on your motor insurance policy. Motor insurers who support Pass Plus offer these discounts on the following types of insurance policies:
  • Comprehensive;
  • Third Party, Fire & Theft (TPFT);
  • Third Party Only.
With the discounts which are possible via participating insurers, the discount could well cover the cost of your Pass Plus training. Just make sure when you contact the various insurers that a Pass Plus discount is available to you.

The Pass Plus course comprises the following different aspects and conditions of driving:
  • Town Driving;
  • All-weather Driving;
  • Driving out of town (country roads);
  • Night Driving;
  • Dual Carriageway Driving;
  • Motorway Driving;
You can take the Pass Plus course up to one year after passing your practical driving test. However, with Pass Plus there is no additional test to take. When your instructor is satisfied that you have demonstrated the skills needed, you will receive your Pass Plus certificate from the DSA which can be used when you approach insurance companies to reduce your premium.
To demonstrate the savings you could make as a result of Pass Plus, the participating insurance companies will automatically give you one-year's no-claims bonus when you take out your first policy. If you are driving under someone else's policy at the time of completing Pass Plus, you can also defer this no-claims bonus for up to two years. Over 60% of insurance companies in the U.K. offer this incentive.
